Real Snohomish Wedding: A Non-Traditional Speakeasy at Dairyland
What do you get when you combine rich, moody colors, luxurious textures, and a touch of glam? Wedding details that are so gorgeous, it’s hard not to drool over every picture. Before spring makes its official appearance, we’re featuring a winter speak-easy themed wedding at Dairyland in Snohomish. To see this venue transformed into a lush, non-traditional wedding, be sure to read on for more!
If you’ve ever driven along Old Snohomish-Monroe Road, you’re probably somewhat familiar with Dairyland. With its rustic, white-washed barn and name prominently displayed in bold lettering, it’s hard to miss. Situated among expansive fields and mountain views, it’s a popular wedding venue, and for good reason.
Dairyland is available January through mid-November; it closes briefly in the late fall and early winter for holiday tree sales-which, may we add, makes for a great engagement photo shoot location. Amenities include two separate getting-ready areas, an outdoor firepit, a prep kitchen, and tables and chairs. Dairyland can accommodate 200 indoor guests and over 300 outdoor guests.
The couple incorporated a dramatic flair to their decor, using darker, rich hues accented with greenery. No flowers needed! If you look closely, flowers were also absent in the bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets, opting instead for ferns and other foliage.
Furthering their nod to non-tradition, the couple dressed Dairyland’s rustic barn in speakeasy theme, complete with cocktail tables, lounge-worthy velvet antique furniture, a live band, and finger foods. Guests ate, drank, and danced to the band, and paused for a moment to observe the wedding. Once the ceremony was over, of course more dancing ensued!
