Real Snohomish Wedding: A Glimpse Into Time at the Feather Ballroom
Standing right along 1st Street in downtown Snohomish is one of the few remaining ballrooms on the west coast. Built in 1906, the historic Feather Ballroom offers a romantic glimpse into time past. This week, we’re excited to feature a wedding at this location! Read on for more, and make sure to check out photos of the gorgeous dance floor. It’s dreamy, for sure!
About the Feather Ballroom
Built by the Fraternal Order of Eagles in 1906, The Feather Ballroom quickly became the most popular dance and event venue within Snohomish County. Many memorable events took place here, including the annual Fireman’s Ball. As the years passed and FOE membership declined, the building slowly began to fall into disrepair. In 2005, a new owner-noting the unique history and restoration potential-breathed new life into the building, bringing it back to its former glory. Original features include the ornate, embossed ceiling with period-matching chandeliers, detailed woodwork, and a beautiful hardwood dance floor.
Modern amenities include air conditioning, a wheelchair lift, a large catering kitchen, a separate getting-ready room and lounge, professional sound system, up-lighting, a drop-down projection screen, and a fully-equipped service bar. The Feather Ballroom can seat up to 300 guests.
The bride and groom chose hues of deep emerald green to infuse throughout their wedding-in the groom’s tie, in the décor, and even in the huge monstera leaves framing the sweetheart table. Whimsical white balloons also dotted the reception area.
Much of this wedding was DIY, and of note were the cute matchbook favors and the creative Jenga guestbook!
Please enjoy photos of this wedding at the beautiful Feather Ballroom, and save the date for The Snohomish Wedding Tour on June 2nd. The Feather Ballroom is one of 17 featured venues of The Tour! Free attendee registration can be found HERE.
