When someone mentions Snohomish, rolling hills, farms, and historic downtown all likely come to mind. But did you know that it’s also home to several bodies of water, including pristine lakes? This week, we’re featuring a wedding at a venue nestled near one of our lakes, Green Gates at Flowing Lake. With sweeping water and mountain views, this wedding was full of unique, memorable details guests will be reminiscing about for years to come. Read on for more, and be sure to check out pictures from the garter toss! It’s the most energetic one we’ve seen yet!

About Green Gates at Flowing Lake

Green Gates is a unique five-acre wedding and events venue located on beautiful Flowing Lake in scenic Snohomish, Washington. It was once a modest equestrian estate; the original 3-horse barn has been beautifully transformed into the bridal cottage, and the formerly covered riding arena in the large barn is now the ballroom reception area. The Tuscany-inspired setting provides a romantic and serene experience with the perfect blend of rustic elegance. Further, the attention to detail in the meticulously maintained gardens, as well as the "salvaged and re-purposed" style in all the structures, will leave you awestruck. Stunning photo opportunities are endless! The wedding lawn has a sweeping view of the sparkling lake, lush greenery, and the Cascade Mountains. The comfort provided by the spacious bridal cottage and the historic groom's cabin will make the day complete. Green Gates can accommodate up to 200 guests.

Wedding Highlights

The couple infused unique details into their wedding that reflected their own personalities. Subtle, nostalgic nod to superheroes? Yes, please! Hidden under the bride’s dress were colorful Wonder Woman socks, corresponding to the boutonnieres that her groom and the groomsmen wore. Lego superhero mini figures were tucked under sprigs of greenery, as each person donned a different superhero. This was such a fun, unexpected detail, and it’s one we’ve never seen before!

Additionally, the couple blended both beauty and utility for their programs, to the appreciation of their guests. Each program was printed on paper fans, a clever idea for the outdoor ceremony. Meanwhile, instead of a traditional guest book, guests were welcome to sign a wooden wall hanging with the initial “P,” the first letter of their last name. Lastly, retro cassette tapes served as guest place cards. Now, where they procured all those cassettes, we’re curious about. We haven’t seen them in ages!

On another note, aren’t these the best garter toss pictures you’ve seen? Wedding goals, check!
