Oh my gosh! It's almost here! We are just a few days away from the biggest wedding show in Western Washington - The Snohomish Wedding Tour! In case you are just starting your wedding planning search and have never heard of The Snohomish Wedding Tour, let me give you a hand.
The Snohomish Wedding Tour brings together all of the fantastic Venues in the Snohomish, Washington area plus dozens of Vendors in a road-tripping, wedding show adventure. Each Venue is open and decorated so that prospective couples can see first-hand what their future wedding might look like there. Also, some of the best wedding professionals in the state are on-hand so that if you want to be able to assemble your wedding day Dream Team, you don't have to go very far!
The setting is casual, fun and like no other experience in the state. And why do we think that? Well because we have literally some of the best Venues in the entire state that call our town "Home."
So, you've registered for the Tour and you've gotten your Tour Map emailed to you and now you're ready to plan the day. Here are some Tips for getting the most out of the experience. (Wait? You haven't registered yet? No worries - do it here.)
1. Make Your List of Who You Want to See
In the ten years the Snohomish Wedding Guild has been putting on the Snohomish Wedding Tour, we have a learned a thing or two and one is that most people are able to only get to six or seven venues total. With (14) locations on the Tour this year, this means that you will have to have a plan ahead of time on where you want to go and who you want to see. Sure, you can bust your butt and get to all (14) if you'd like but we don't give out Gold Stars for visiting all of the locations! All kidding aside, we want to make sure that you are able to take advantage of the opportunity to really get to know our Vendors and so plan giving yourself some time at each location plus the driving between Venues.
2. Visit Historic Downtown Snohomish
All roads on the Tour pretty much go through our amazing historic district in Snohomish, Washington. In fact, Snohomish was named "Top 10 Coolest Small Town in America" by Budget Travel Magazine for a great reason. It has award-winning restaurants, breweries, antique stores and more. And so while you're charging your batteries at lunch or if you want to cap off your epic day of wedding planning, be sure to do it Downtown. You can visit the Historic Downtown Snohomish website to pick a place to eat, drink or play.
3. Wear Comfortable Shoes
Yes, I think it goes without saying you'll be doing some walking. But you have to also remember that some of our amazing venues are beautiful outdoor or farm locations. Meaning you should expect to be walking on grass or gravel part of the day. So to avoid spraining your ankle and putting an unceremonious early ending to the event, wear comfortable walking shoes and watch your step!
4. Take Video of The Venues
We all are walking around with a camera in our pocket but, speaking from experience as a venue owner myself, I always encourage visitors to actually take short videos of the Venues. A video helps pull together the location better than a series of still photographs. You don't need to make them long - just quick 10 second clips, panning the spaces will be super helpful later.
5. Finally - Take Advantage of the Deals!
Yes - there are usually amazing special offers for those to come to the Snohomish Wedding Tour that aren't available any other time. Some venues & vendors offer Tour booking discounts or vendor package deals which means you might be able to save extra money just by coming out to the Tour that day. And who doesn't love to save money? Keep in mind some of these discounts expire shortly after the Tour is over so be sure to be ready to make a savvy choice. Some of our Vendors offered a sneak peek at some of the awesome offers in an article last week. Check it out!
Whatever your plan is that day, we know you're going to have a great time! Our Vendors work so hard each year to make sure that we can offer you the best experience ever because we know that your wedding deserves that much effort and you want a vendor team that would do know less than that for you! So, we are looking to seeing you Sunday!
