Are you getting ready to pop the question? Did you know that almost 40% of all couples actually get engaged during the holidays? Engagement season is that time of year from November through Valentine’s Day in February where almost 40% of all couples decide to take the leap and get married. So we asked our professionals in the Snohomish wedding guild where their favorite Snohomish engagement spots locations are.
Maybe you believe the early bird gets the worm and don’t plan on waiting until November to pop the question. Or perhaps your significant other really loves Halloween and October is the right time for you. In either case, any one of our farms during their pumpkin and Halloween festivals would be a great setting such as Thomas Family Farm, Craven, The Farm at Swans Trail and Stocker.
Melissa Miksch, Melissa Miksch Photography, offers that if Christmas is more your cup of tea that you can head over to the tree farms like Dairyland or Stocker Farms and get down on one knee surrounded by noble firs or in their barn with Santa Claus. And if the ring purchase has left you a little lean on cash, then grab a complimentary hot cocoa or cider to toast the occasion!
Are you the outdoorsy type? Then Rebecca from Jeff & Rebecca Photography suggests a hike on nearby Lord Hill. There are several places along the way to step off the trail and pop the question.
If you have a flair for the dramatic, then invite your significant other watch you parachute out of a plane at Harvey Airfield with Skydive Snohomish. And when you land safely back on terra firma, I bet you get a guaranteed “Yes!” to the big question. Or, if you are both adrenaline junkies, then propose while in the air – just make sure the ring is tethered on to you first so you don’t lose your grip on it and have it fly away!
If soaring over the Snohomish Valley and seeing the beautiful venues from the air is still a thing but without the death-defying leap from the airplane, Jon Kaplan, Jon Kaplan Photography, offers another quintessential Snohomish experience which is proposing in a hot air balloon. Airial Balloon Company, across from the airfield, offers romance packages for you and your significant other. But you have to plan on asking the question before winter as they usually end their flight seasons by mid-October.
Finally, a great option regardless of what time of year it is is the old white gazebo in the historic downtown Snohomish. If you don’t mind a crowd and don’t get stage-fright easily, propose during the day. But if you’re looking for something more intimate, then wait until after dark when there aren’t as many people on the streets. Gazebo overlooks the Snohomish River and is conveniently close to many cocktail lounges, craft beverage tasting rooms and restaurants to celebrate before or after or both!
If you’re going out of your way to create a memorable experience while professing your love and devotion to a person that you are asking to spend the rest of their life with you then you definitely need to make sure you capture it all on video or film. So head over to our photography and videography section and find yourself someone who can document the whole thing for you.
